Abu Dhabi tower sets new world record with highest running track on a building
ALAIN adds third Guinness record to its growing portfolio of achievements
ABU DHABI – An Abu Dhabi tower has secured a place in Guinness World Records after unveiling the world’s highest running track on a building, creating a new rooftop fitness landmark above the city’s skyline.
The achievement was recorded by Abu Dhabi-based asset management company ALAIN, with the track located at the top of Al Ain Tower, an asset owned and managed by the company. Standing 179.7 metres above ground level, the facility was officially certified by Guinness World Records today.
The record-setting running track sits at a height of 589 ft 6.8 in and was developed to showcase the innovation behind Al Ain Tower while introducing a distinctive wellness feature within an urban environment. The rooftop track provides users with an outdoor fitness space combined with panoramic views across Abu Dhabi.
Third world record
ALAIN said the project forms part of its wider efforts to enhance residents’ experiences across its portfolio by promoting active lifestyles, wellness and community engagement. The company highlighted that the track reflects its focus on creating developments that offer more than traditional spaces by integrating lifestyle-focused features.
The latest recognition marks ALAIN’s third Guinness World Records title. The company previously earned global recognition for the highest outdoor infinity pool in the world and the highest occupiable skybridge floor at Address Beach Resort in Dubai, UAE.
Rabih Karam, Group Chief Executive Officer of ALAIN, said the new record demonstrates the company’s approach towards innovation and creating memorable experiences within its developments.
“We are proud to receive this recognition from Guinness World Records and to add a third world record to ALAIN’s portfolio,” he said. “The highest running track on a building reflects our commitment to innovation and our belief that real estate should offer more than physical spaces alone.”
Focus on wellness
Karam added that the company aims to create outdoor experiences that encourage wellness and active living while enhancing everyday life through unique features integrated into its assets.
The rooftop running track was designed as part of ALAIN’s vision to support healthier lifestyles by providing residents and visitors with an elevated fitness environment within a modern city setting.
To celebrate the milestone, ALAIN launched a campaign highlighting the record-breaking track and the experience it offers. The campaign features Yahya Al Ghassani, winger for Shabab Al Ahli Club and the United Arab Emirates national football team, who was among the first to run on the track after its official certification.

The campaign film captures themes of ambition, movement and achievement associated with the new record and will be shared across ALAIN’s digital and social media platforms from June 16, 2026.
